What Is “Yoni”? + Explore Yoni Yoga

The word yoni comes from Sanskrit and is often translated as “womb” or “source.” It refers not only to the female genitalia (vulva), vagina, cervix, and womb **but also** to your sacred creative center — your wellspring of life, energy, and sensuality.
In yogic traditions, particularly tantric lineages, the yoni is honored as a place of power, creativity, and connection to the divine feminine.
In my new Yoni Yoga for Pelvic Power video, we bring mindful attention to your deep center through breath, movement, and gentle flow.
Although intended for women, this 30-minute routine can be enjoyed by all genders since anyone can benefit from tuning into their pelvic powerhouse and energizing their center of creativity and life force.
You’ll be guided to breathe deeply into your hips and sacrum, activate and release the pelvic floor, and move in ways that awaken strength, fluidity, and self-love.
Push play and follow along:
Whether you have a yoni or not, this practice invites you to connect with your own center of vitality, creativity, and zest for life. It’s about presence, awareness, and honoring the most foundational part of your body.
NOTES:
If you're a woman who's had a hysterectomy, you still have a yoni.
This flow is pelvic-aware, meaning that specific cues are given for breathing and technique to keep it "pelvic floor friendly" for people with pelvic health challenges, including prolapse. However, EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT and will tolerate exercises differently. Stop or modify if anything feels uncomfortable for your particular core/pelvic floor needs.
