Strong Feet, Strong Pelvic Floor: Foot health matters more than you think!

Did you know that your feet play a powerful role in your pelvic floor health? It’s true! Everything in the body is connected -- head to pelvis to toes -- and foot strength and mobility are essential for a strong, supple pelvic floor.

Here's why, and a simple workout you can try right away.

Why Your Feet Impact Pelvic Health

Your feet are the foundation of your body. Without strong, stable, and flexible feet, your pelvis can’t find the supportive base it needs to align and function properly. Overly rigid or floppy feet can disrupt this balance, affecting everything from posture to knee and hip pain, as well as pelvic floor function and strength.

Plus, everything in the body is connected by fascia -- a web of tissue that links your feet to your pelvic floor, spine, and even your neck, jaw, and head. When we ignore foot health, we miss the chance to optimize this incredible, whole-body system.

The Foot & Pelvic Floor Connection: Quick Moves to Try

Here’s a peek at some of the foot-focused moves I share in my "Foot Workout for Pelvic Health" YouTube video:

Heel Lifts – Boost ankle strength and calf stability, while encouraging healthy foot mobility.
Toe Spreads – Open up cramped toes for better balance and fascia release.
Forefoot & Heel Lifts – Activate both the front and back of the lower leg to support the pelvis.
Side-to-Side Foot Rolls – Mobilize ankle joints and awaken the whole lower chain.
Toe Scrunches – Strengthen arches and improve shock absorption -- great for those with plantar fasciitis or shin splints.
Hip Rotations via Foot Positioning – Subtle shifts at the feet guide pelvic floor activation AND release.

Remember: When you strengthen and mobilize your feet, you’re building a strong, supportive base for your pelvic floor to thrive!
